Abstract
In this article, the author intends to collect the terms of medic and medicine and other related words, based on Pahlavi texts (3rd-10th centuries) and describe, categorize and analyze them one by one.
The aim is to inform about the state of medicine in the Sassanid society until the early Islamic period of Iran, which can be valuable from the perspective of historical and social linguistics (socio-linguistics). Based on this, several questions can be raised in this context: The first question is how the name of the medical profession and the ranking of doctors and the words related to it appear in the Pahlavi texts under our review. The second question is which with terms were declared the name of the disease and the method of medicine and its treatment. The third question is how much of these words have reached Persian.
